Error 1603 or Error 1612

Question:

When installing Business Studio, I receive an error with an exit code of 1603 or 1612, and then the installation is interrupted. How can I fix it?

Answer:

1. To avoid error 1603 you need to:

  1. Respond promptly to the confirmation action requests of the User Account Control (UAC). If the UAC does not get a confirmation in its 3-minute timeout, the installation process is interrupted with the error message.

  2. Have enough hard disk space to install/ uninstall Business Studio. Please check this before the installation process (for more information, read System Requirements).

To learn more about error 1603 causes and troubleshooting, please refer to this article on the Microsoft support website.

2. Error 1612 indicates that the program failed to find the required files and cannot be uninstalled correctly. To fix the problem, try running the “Fix it” utility. (Visit the Microsoft support website to download it) and install the new version of Business Studio then.

If the abovementioned option does not help, please uninstall the program using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. To do this download and run the application, and follow the instructions provided in it.
